If you love wintertime events, you won't want to miss out on the Winter Carnival at Steamboat Springs, CO. This carnival started in 1914 and the entertainment hasn't quit since then. The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) arranges the occasion and sees that every little thing runs easily. It started off as a release for celebration to assist the area folks battle cabin fever at the peak of the winter season and continues to celebrate winter weather by bringing together neighbors and friends and helping everyone to enjoy many of the traditions of the city often known as Ski Town USA.
The occasion features an assortment of activities showcasing the western tradition of Steamboat Springs in addition to its lengthy background of winter sporting activities. One of many local favorites is the "Donkey Jump" by which children soar from a jump and go up to 40 or 50 ft. high. Besides the "Donkey Jump", Horse Events in addition include Ring & Box, Ring & Spear, Street Slalom and Ski Joring.
